The anime Collector Yui (52 episodes), which aired on NHK Educational TV from 1999 to 2000, is now coming to Blu-ray! Digital Remaster Edition.

This series follows Yui Kasuga, a second-year middle schooler who’s terrible with computers, as she carries out missions inside “ComNet,” a massive computer network, under the name “Collector Yui.”

Synopsis

In the year 20XX, the world has become unified through “Comnet,” a computer network where nearly everything can be done in virtual space.
Comnet is managed by a massive host computer called “Grosser,” but one day Grosser develops the ambition to control humans in the real world as well, aiming to take over the world.

Dr. Inukai, the developer of Comnet, completes a control program called “Corrector” to stop Grosser—but Grosser's attack is immediate.
To protect the program, the doctor splits it into eight parts and scatters them throughout Comnet.

Yui Kasuga, a second-year middle school student who struggles with computers, happens to encounter one of the programs, “IR.”
Entrusted with a mission by IR, Yui sets off on a journey as Corrector Yui to gather the eight scattered Correctors across the virtual world.

Synopsis

Thanks to the efforts of Corrector Yui and the Correctors, the host computer Grosser’s plan to control humanity has been stopped.
Dr. Inukai builds Yui an improved ComCon that allows her to transform on her own, but it is stolen by someone.

Although peace has returned to Comnet, a mysterious virus suddenly begins appearing throughout the network, causing chaos.
As Yui and her friends struggle against this new enemy, another Corrector calling herself “Ai” appears.

They soon realize that the virus manifests whenever a “lost girl” is sighted somewhere in Comnet.
Why? And what is the goal of Collector Ai, who is also pursuing it?
Yui begins to suspect that Ai Shinozaki, the girl who just moved in next door, might actually be the mysterious Collector Ai.
