Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture

Kanazawa is Japan’s top producer of gold leaf, renowned for its high-quality craftsmanship. Famous for adorning iconic landmarks like Kyoto’s Kinkakuji Temple, Kanazawa’s gold leaf production benefits from the region’s ideal climate and rich historical tradition.

Over centuries, it has grown into a world-class center, celebrated both domestically and internationally for its exquisite gold leaf artistry.

Kanazawa Silver Leaf

To faithfully reproduce each character’s signature colors, the watch dials use colorless silver foil as the primary material.

Like gold leaf, silver leaf is a traditional material that requires highly advanced techniques: a silver ingot is carefully hammered and stretched to a thickness of about 0.1 μm (one ten-thousandth of a millimeter).

Each piece is then lovingly hand-painted by a skilled craftsman, ensuring that every watch is truly one of a kind.

This meticulous process highlights the perfect blend of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s vibrant designs with the timeless beauty of traditional Japanese artistry.

The Final Product

The finished dials are incorporated into automatic self-winding watches, rich with details that reflect the essence of each character from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

From colors and patterns inspired by their haori and personal accessories, to rotating seconds discs modeled after iconic symbols like their Nichirin sword tsuba, every element is thoughtfully designed.

The hour and minute hands take cues from each character’s weapon or motifs, and the 12 o’clock position is marked with a unique emblem for a finishing touch.

At the heart of each timepiece is a mechanical movement that is both made and assembled in Japan, earning it the distinction of being a true Made-in-Japan watch.
