The manga The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity by Saka Mikami began serialization in October 2021. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity 5th Anniversary Exhibition is being held at Space Galleria on the eighth floor of animate Ikebukuro's flagship store from Friday, October 16, to Monday, November 9, 2026.
The story is set at Chidori Public High, a boys' school often dismissed as a "bottom-tier" institution, and the neighboring Kikyo Private Academy, an elite school for young ladies. This coming-of-age romance follows Rintaro Tsumugi, a student at Chidori, and Kaoruko Waguri, who attends Kikyo. Their paths cross at Rintaro's family cake shop, and as they get to know each other, they gradually grow closer. The purity of their relationship and the delicate, nuanced portrayal of their inner thoughts have captured the hearts of many readers, leading to a TV anime adaptation that began airing in July 2025.
The 5th Anniversary Exhibition invites visitors to relive the story through a dedicated display featuring rare storyboards and original manga artwork. There's plenty to see, from elaborate decorations that showcase the creators' meticulous attention to detail to photo spots and video installations.
