The arena tour After the Rain 10th Anniversary Tour ~Shunkashuto~, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the music unit After the Rain formed by Soraru and Mafumafu, kicked off with performances at Pia Arena MM on May 5 and 6, 2026.
Conceived as a way to spend this milestone anniversary year together with listeners while journeying through the changing seasons, the tour is divided into four seasonal chapters. The Kanagawa performances are themed around spring, followed by summer at Kobe World Memorial Hall on August 29 and 30, autumn at Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall on October 17 and 18, and winter at Xebio Arena Sendai on February 6 and 7, 2027. Each stop will feature stage effects and performances inspired by its respective season.
As the show began, an opening movie played on the central monitor of a stage decorated with cherry blossom motifs, displaying the words "spring rain" in Japanese. The video journeyed through the four seasons before settling on spring, and Soraru and Mafumafu emerged at center stage dressed in matching black jackets. With an energetic call of, "Shunkashuto Day 2! Let's enjoy ourselves today!" from Soraru, the concert kicked off with "The Equation for the Beginning of Love."
Throughout the song, Soraru waved to the audience and repeatedly raised his arms to fire up the crowd, while Mafumafu poured his heart into every note, expressing the exhilarating emotions of love through their beautifully blended harmonies. Following a dazzling laser display, the mood shifted with "Kaidoku Funo," an aggressive rock track driven by powerful vocals and dramatic bursts of flame effects. Opening with a string of high-energy songs, the performance made a bold statement as the start of the anniversary tour, evoking the feeling of spring's first invigorating breeze.

Referring to something Mafumafu had said on stage the previous day, Soraru reflected, "It's easy to get excited about an artist you've only recently discovered, but the fact that so many of you have stuck with us for 10 years and are still here today means so much to us."
He continued, "We've been performing as After the Rain for 10 years, and both of us are incredibly grateful that we're still able to look out and see an arena filled with all of you."
Expressing his appreciation to the audience, he added, "I hope we can enjoy this show together right through to the very end and make it a day that lets us properly thank all of you."
The mood then shifted for a guitar-and-vocals arrangement of "Wasurerarenbo." As Mafumafu performed, Soraru made his way to the side stage, meeting the eyes of audience members as he sang. The outro was also memorable for the sight of Mafumafu earnestly strumming away on his distortion-laden guitar.
As the final notes lingered, Mafumafu's guitar rang out once more, and he began performing "Juusuunen Mae no Bokutachi e" accompanied only by his guitar. Reflecting on the past while standing firmly in the present, the song took on even greater depth through the years of experience the duo has accumulated. Every lyric seemed to trace the path from the days when they first fell in love with music to the journey that brought them here today. Their voices carried both the maturity gained over time and the same sincerity and purity that have always defined them.

Mafumafu shared that he had always wanted to include a band-style segment with Soraru in one of the Shunkashuto performances. Explaining why he chose the spring show for it, he recalled, "In high school and college, every spring seemed to begin with starting a new band," and added, "When I think of spring, I think of slinging a guitar over my shoulder, riding the train to rehearsals, and playing in a band with my friends."
Soraru also revealed that he had been preparing for this day by taking guitar lessons. With a laugh, he told the audience, "I'm still pretty new to guitar, but I'll be playing along for a few songs today," before the duo launched into four cover songs performed in a twin-guitar arrangement.
Perhaps influenced by Mafumafu's earlier banter about his band days, performances of youthful guitar-rock songs such as JimmyThumbP's "Calc." and Junky's "Melancholic" evoked the image of a high school cover band. The moment Soraru and Mafumafu turned toward one another and played their guitars side by side, the entire venue seemed to fill with a sense of youthful nostalgia.
For kemu's "Haiboku no Shounen," Mafumafu took the lead vocals. Backed by the passionate performance of the support band, his youthful singing voice, combined with the sharp guitar riffs that framed the song's opening and closing, offered a glimpse into the musical roots and individuality that have shaped him as an artist.
Soraru, meanwhile, handled vocals for BUMP OF CHICKEN's "Sharin no Uta," a song he shared that he often listened to during his high school years. Mafumafu sat beside him with an acoustic guitar, complementing the song's country-inspired sound. Soraru's gentle expression and warm vocals beautifully brought out the bittersweet spring farewell woven throughout the lyrics.

The concert then moved into a solo medley section. Remaining alone on stage, Soraru looked back on the previous day's performance and admitted with a laugh, "We were probably a bit tense yesterday, given that it was our 10th anniversary show."
Today, the second day, however, he appeared far more relaxed and at ease. Reflecting on the journey he and Mafumafu have shared, he told the audience, "You've all seen us through so many highs and lows over the years. The fact that there are still people who continue to support us and come to our shows is the reason we're able to stand on stages like this today. I feel incredibly fortunate."
He then launched into a medley centered around songs associated with spring, seamlessly weaving together tracks from different eras and genres, including Ado's "Odo," Police Piccadilly's "Separate," Nanou's "Sakura no Zenya," Remioromen's "Sangatsu Kokonoka," and DECO*27's "Love Words V." The performance highlighted both the breadth of his musical influences and his versatility as a vocalist.
Mafumafu then took the stage wearing the kimono-inspired costume created for the music video of "Swaying from Season to Season," which fans may also recognize from his 2018 concert at Saitama Super Arena. He followed with a medley of songs he had written and composed himself.
Beginning with "Toosenbou," performed under his solo artist name Mafumafu and featuring choreography that mirrored the lyrics, he continued with After the Rain's "Kaisei no Bus ni Noru." After energizing the crowd with a spirited "Let's get excited!", he launched into a self-cover of "Kimiiro Iro Utsuri," originally written for Fudanjuku, followed by "Shiori." The selection brought an almost-summer atmosphere to the venue, fitting for the season in early May.
Finally, he returned to the theme of spring with "Haikei, Sakura Maichiru Kono Hi Ni." Moving seamlessly from one song to the next, Mafumafu powered through a series of tracks that blended pop sensibilities with rock energy, showcasing the style that has become one of his greatest strengths as an artist.

Soraru then returned to the stage in a matching kimono-inspired outfit, joining Mafumafu for "MOUA" and immediately raising the energy in the venue. During the instrumental break, he repeatedly threw his arms into the air to fire up the crowd. In the process, his well-defined biceps drew attention: a reminder of the effort he continues to put into maintaining the stamina and strength required for live performances. When the vocals resumed, Soraru and Mafumafu turned toward one another and delivered a perfectly synchronized performance, singing as if they shared a single heartbeat. The fact that two artists who each have successful solo careers have continued performing together as a unit for a decade—longer still if one counts their activities before the formation of After the Rain—feels remarkable in itself. In that moment, the deep trust and unspoken understanding that only the two of them share was unmistakable.
Mafumafu, who normally does not sweat much during performances, was already drenched in sweat by the time he finished his second song. When asked about it, he replied with a smile, "I mean, I am nervous, but I'm having way too much fun," looking completely refreshed despite the exertion. The conversation then shifted to the theme of the four seasons. What began as a discussion quickly turned into a lively mix of friendly debate and casual banter. When Soraru remarked, "that could be a lyric," Mafumafu immediately began developing the idea as if he were already writing a song. As the topic turned to the connection between their stage personas and their personal histories, the two reflected on how people's core nature tends to stay the same over time, while also acknowledging the changes they have undergone over the past decade. "Mafumafu has become a little softer," Soraru observed, while Mafumafu noted that "Soraru has become more punctual." Their exchange made it clear that their individual personalities and ways of thinking are deeply intertwined with both the music they create and the way they present themselves on stage. At the same time, it highlighted how strongly they continue to influence one another after all these years.
In "Yuudachi," the pair carefully and dynamically expressed the complex emotions swirling beneath the surface, while the more recent song "Gemini" conveyed a deeply sincere and heartfelt sentiment. During the MC that followed, Mafumafu revealed that "Gemini" was written about someone very important to him: a person who was also a close friend of Soraru's. While noting that listeners are free to interpret any song however they wish, he explained, "With this song, though, I really wanted to be clear about the feelings that inspired me to write it," adding, "That's exactly why I chose those lyrics. It's a very important song to me." Soraru then addressed the audience, saying, "That doesn't mean you need to change the way you listen to it. But if you'd like, you could try listening to it as a song from us to that person."

With the show entering its final stretch, Soraru called out to the crowd, "Alright, we're heading into the second half! We've still got a lot of our toughest songs left to perform, so... can you keep up with us?!"
He then delivered powerful vocals on "Anti-Clockwise" and "I Sleep Well," before Mafumafu turned to the audience and said, "Thank you all for these past 10 years." The pair then performed "Swaying from Season to Season." The sight of their kimono sleeves fluttering as they moved across the stage, coupled with Mafumafu's light, graceful steps, was captivating. The moment at the end when they stood side by side, singing while exchanging glances, felt especially refreshing.
Later, Soraru hinted at future activities, telling fans, "I think we'll have some exciting news to share before long. The 10th anniversary celebrations don't end with these concerts, we still have plenty of announcements and new songs on the way, so please look forward to them."
Mafumafu echoed that optimism, saying, "This tour has gotten off to such a wonderful start that I'm already excited about the six performances we'll have in summer, autumn, and winter." Reflecting on the future, he continued, "We've spent the past decade throwing ourselves into this without really stopping to think, but if we've made it to our 10th anniversary, then maybe we can make it to 15 years, or even 20, as long as our bodies hold out." With a smile, he added, "So that we can meet again, and so that you'll want to come see us again, we'll keep singing with everything we've got until the very end."
The main set concluded with two of After the Rain's signature cherry blossom songs: "Yukoku, Yume To Mimagau" and "Ouka ni Tsukuyo to Sode Shigure," the unit's very first original song. Singing with a power that seemed to release every ounce of emotion and concentration they had built up throughout the performance, the duo delivered a magnificent finale. The strength of their individual voices and the harmonies they created together radiated a sense of forward momentum, as though carving a path toward the future. Much like spring itself, it was a moment filled with the energy of new beginnings and fresh growth.

The duo returned to the stage in their tour T-shirts and kicked off the encore with an energetic performance of "Senbonzakura - Arrange ver. -".
Looking ahead to the rest of the anniversary tour, Soraru told the audience, "Even though it's all part of the same tour, each show is going to have a pretty different setlist. I can't wait to enjoy the summer, autumn, and winter performances with all of you."
Mafumafu, meanwhile, beamed as he reflected on the audience's enthusiasm. "I've realized that the more I hear your voices, the better my own gets," he said, before waving to the crowd and adding, "I had so much fun today! Thank you!"
Promising, "We'll see you at the next venue," the pair launched into "1-2-3 -2023 ver.-" as the final song of the spring performance. Mafumafu bounded onto the side stage while Soraru perched on a platform, each singing freely and joyfully as the audience responded with cheers celebrating the special occasion.
"Let's all do one big jump together to finish things off!" Mafumafu called out, and the entire arena leaped into the air as one. Afterwards, with his legs visibly shaking from exhaustion, Soraru laughed, "I'm done! I've got nothing left!" The two waved goodbye to the crowd before departing the stage and turning toward the next season of the tour.
As concertgoers filed out of the venue, still basking in the afterglow of the performance, a gentle rain had begun to fall outside. It felt almost like an ending credits sequence, echoing the "spring rain" banner that had appeared on stage earlier in the evening and allowing the memories of the day to settle in even more deeply.
Though themed around spring, the concert also served as a reminder of the remarkable breadth of music that After the Rain has created over the past decade. Centered primarily on the duo's original songs, the setlist showcased the colorful world that Soraru and Mafumafu have built together. Their individual journeys and shared history continue to enrich their music, while their vocal abilities, stage presence, and sense of freedom as performers show no signs of slowing down. It is perhaps because they remain humble and continue striving to improve, even after earning the support of so many fans, that they are still able to create performances that feel both polished and refreshingly new.
The tour next heads to Kobe World Memorial Hall for its summer performances on August 29 and 30. As Mafumafu remarked during the MC, "Summer is my favorite season, by far." With so many beloved summer songs in After the Rain's catalog, the spring performances left audiences eager to see what summer scenery the duo will paint next.
